LOGAN, Utah – A pair of Aggie athletes earned Mountain West recognition for their performance and the Mark Colligan Memorial Meet last weekend.

Utah State track & field athletes Devin Pancake and Krysthina Vlahovic were named Mountain West Indoor Athletes of the Week. It was the first award for either athlete.

For Vlahovic, a freshman out of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, she earned the MW Women’s Freshman of the Week honor for her performance in the 60-meter hurdles and 200 meter sprint. Vlahovic finished fifth in the hurdles event with a time of 8.88, first amond all MW freshmen. She placed eighth in the 200 meters, finishing with a time of 8.98.

Pancake, a senior from Springville, UT, was named MW Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for his performance in the 3,000 meters event. Pancake set a career best, winning the event with a time of 8:09:40. The time puts Pancake fifth in USU program history and was the third fastest time of all MW runners this season.

As a team, Utah State finished with four individual titles and 24 top-five finishes in the meet.

Joining Pancake with individual titles were junior Mattie Geddes, who finished first in the women’s mile. Her time of 4:54:93 was good enough for eighth place in Aggie history. In the men’s pole vault, freshman Logan Hammer cleared a height of 4.77m/15-7.75 to take the title. Hannah Davidson was the other Aggie event winner, finishing with a time of 2:14:89 in the 800 meters.
