On Tuesday, we learned what BYU’s nine-game conference looks like in their first year in the Power Five conference. BYU’s first Big 12 game will be against Kansas on September 23.
The Big 12 Conference will be a 14-team league in 2023 that features newcomers BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, and Houston. Along with the newcomers, the 14-team league will also include Texas and Oklahoma. There have been reports that the 2023 season could be the last with the Longhorns and Sooners before the move on to the SEC.

There have been a lot of twists and turns to the release of this 2023 Big 12 football schedule. Initially, former Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby said the schedule would be released sometime in October. Then there was speculation from BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe that it would come out in early December. After that, Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark said it would come out mid-December.
Then there were reports it wouldn’t be unveiled until February. From there, UCF AD Terry Mohajir told a fan on Twitter it would be January 17. That date came and went.
But all of that is now forgotten because the schedule is finally here.
Here’s a look at BYU’s 2023 football schedule.
