Former Bingham Standout Scores TD During Monday Night Football Wild Card Game

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Bingham Miners standout Dalton Schultz got the Dallas Cowboys on the scoreboard during their Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers hosted the Cowboys at Raymond James Stadium on Monday, January 16.
With 6:28 remaining in the opening quarter, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott tossed a pass over the middle and into the arms of an open Schultz. After the reception, the tight end turned and walked into the end zone for the first points of the night.
Schultz’s touchdown gave the Cowboys a 6-0 lead.

The catch capped a seven-play, 80-yard drive that took 3:32.
After the score, Schultz had one reception for 22 yards and a touchdown. During the regular season, Schultz had 57 catches for 577 yards and five touchdowns.
Schultz has now reached the end zone three times in Dallas’ last three contests.
The Cowboys entered the NFL Playoffs with a 12-5 record. The Buccaneers made the postseason with an 8-9 record.
Dallas’ game against Tampa Bay is broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC.

About Dalton Schultz
Following his high school career at Bingham, Schultz played for the Stanford Cardinal.
After his time at Stanford, the Cowboys selected Schultz during the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Schultz saw little playing time during his first two seasons in the league. In 2020, he caught the first touchdown of his NFL career and finished the year with four scores.
Last season, Schultz had a breakout year for Dallas. He helped the Cowboys reach the playoffs and ended the year with 78 catches for 808 yards and eight touchdowns.

Before facing the Buccaneers, Schultz had recorded 211 receptions for 2,122 yards and 17 touchdowns during his five seasons in the league, all with the Cowboys.
