Utah Tech Falls to California Baptist On Road

RIVERSIDE, Calfornia – The Utah Tech Trailblazers travelled to the CBU Events Center to take on the California Baptist Lancers on Thursday.
The fist half in Riverside was a nail-biter. The Trailblazers and the Lancers traded blows, going back-and-forth with many scoring runs.

Tanner Christensen put up a monster double-double. He finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

The biggest lead in the first half was nine, held by Utah Tech.

The 6-foot-10 Christensen towered over everyone in CBU’s starting lineup.

The Lancer’s answer was the 7-footer Timothy Ighoefe off of the bench.

The Trailblazer’s nine-point lead was quickly closed down to 3. Halftime shortly followed with a score of 29-26.

The second half was not nearly as kind to Utah Tech. Despite a solid start, the Lancers brought the game back to a tie at 38.
CBU then went on a 33-15 run. The home crowd erupted as the Lancers knocked down three after three.
Many were made by Sophomore guard Scotty Washington, a 42% shooter from beyond-the-arc. He finished with 17 points.
The final score was 72-58.
