SALT LAKE CITY – Utah is going back to the Rose Bowl after its dominant 47-24 win over USC on Friday night and the team seems to be enjoying the celebration of being champions.
The Utes are now preparing for Penn State in the Rose Bowl that will kick off on Jan. 2. In the meantime, the players are having a great time and one player in particular on this Ute team is having a spectacular time.
Utah defensive lineman Devin Kaufusi joins Unrivaled every week during the football season. He surprised hosts Alex Kirry and Scott Mitchell in his very worn-out voice to say that tight end Dalton Kincaid actually has the Pac-12 championship trophy.
“Dalton’s been smiling ever since the game and so we’ve been having a fun time. The trophy is actually at his house and we were there,” Kaufusi said.

Kincaid did not have the monster game he did the first time around when Utah beat USC when he had 16 catches for 234 yards and a touchdown. In the title game, he was visibly hurt but managed to see the field and ended up with a respectable four catches for 40 yards during pivotal moments in the game.
Kaufusi let it slip that maybe the players are not supposed to be in possession of the trophy. During the interview, jokes are made about having the trophy with Kirry suggesting that he brings the trophy along for a date to impress the ladies.
It would be interesting to know how Kincaid and other players are able to pass the Pac-12 championship trophy around as if it were the Stanley Cup and if others will get a chance to have a night with the Pac-12 trophy.
Odds are passing the trophy around won’t last too long as the team has a big bowl game to prepare for.
