Seahawks LB Cody Barton Seals Win Over Rams With Interception

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current Seattle Seahawks linebacker Cody Barton sealed a victory over the Los Angeles Rams with a late interception.
The Rams hosted the Seahawks at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, December 4.
With 10 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Barton picked off Rams quarterback John Wolford and returned the ball 10 yards to the Los Angeles 31-yard line.
Seattle was able to kneel the ball out and secure victory after the interception.

Seattle defeated Los Angeles, 27-23.
Barton finished the game with seven total tackles, four solo tackles, and a pass breakup.
The former Ute entered the game with 83 total tackles, 54 solo tackles, two sacks, one interception, and four pass breakups this season.
With the win, the Seahawks improved their record to 7-5 this season, including 4-3 on the road.

Seattle’s next game is at home against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, December 11 at 2:25 p.m. (MDT) on FOX.
About Cody Barton
Prior to his college and professional careers, Barton was a standout player for the Bengals of Brighton High School. After his prep career, the linebacker played at the University of Utah from 2015-18. During his time with the Utes, Barton recorded 234 total tackles, 131 solo tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one interception, 11 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in 47 games played.
Following his time at Utah, Barton was selected by the Seahawks with the No. 88 overall pick during the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Through the first nine games of 2022, Barton had 62 total tackles, 39 solo tackles, two sacks, and two pass breakups.
During his four seasons in the league, the linebacker has posted 178 total tackles, 110 solo tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception, and six pass breakups in 59 games for the Seahawks.
