Walker Kessler Posts Career-Highs In Jazz Win

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz won their second straight game with a 139-119 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 24 points while rookie Walker Kessler played the best game of his young career scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds on a perfect 7-7 from the floor.
The Pacers were led by Myles Turner who had 18 points.
First Quarter
The Jazz jumped out to a quick start behind nine early points from Lauri Markkanen on an efficient 4-5 shooting from the floor.
As a team, the Jazz shot 7-12 in the first quarter from three while the Pacers missed all four of their attempts.

Markkanen finished with 12 first quarter points while Malik Beasley added nine off the bench.
After one the Jazz led the Pacers 35-24.
Second Quarter
After trailing by as much as 15, the Pacers rallied to tie the game at 54 fueled by a 28-13 run over a six-minute second quarter stretch.
However, the Jazz answered with a 17-0 run to take their biggest lead of the game at 71-54.

Five Jazz players scored in double figures, led by Markkanen who had 16. The Pacers were led by Myles Turner who had 14.
At the half, the Jazz led the Pacers 75-59.
Third Quarter
Both teams opened the second half slowly before the Pacers found some traction and cut the Jazz lead to 10.
However, the Jazz answered with a healthy diet of free throws and extended their lead to 22 late in the quarter.

Through three quarters, Markkanen led the Jazz with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Heading into the fourth the Jazz led the Pacers 101-81.
Fourth Quarter
The Pacers were unable to trim the Jazz early in the fourth and went to their bench midway through the quarter.

Walker Kessler played the best game of his NA career recording a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double on 7-7 from the floor.
