SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz are trying to snap their five-game losing streak and they got off to a great start against the LA Clippers on the offensive end.
In the first quarter, the Jazz held a 35-26 lead over the Clippers. What was impressive was the team shooting 11-of-17 from the field and 6-for-11 from the three-point line.
Lauri Markkanen led the way with 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field. Jordan Clarkson hit a pair of three-pointers and finished the first quarter with eight points. Collin Sexton chipped in four points, while both Simone Fontecchio and Malik Beasley hit a three-pointer.

Jazz Amid Season Worst Losing Streak
After a stunning 10-3 start to the schedule, the Jazz have lost a season-high five straight games and eight of their last 10 overall.
The Jazz are winless since guard Mike Conley left the starting lineup due to a left knee strain on November 19 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The team announced on Tuesday that Conley was considered day-to-day with the injury, but has been ruled out against the Clippers.
Conley is averaging 10.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 29.2 minutes per game for the Jazz this season.
The Jazz will also be without veteran Rudy Gay for the ninth straight game after suffering a sprained finger against the Philadelphia 76ers on November 13.
Clippers Without Leonard, Paul, Kennard
The Clippers will be without Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Luke Kennard when they travel to face the Jazz on Wednesday.
Guard Norman Powell is also listed as doubtful while Reggie Jackson is listed as questionable.
The Clippers will face one of the tougher turnarounds in the NBA after beating the Trail Blazers Tuesday night in Portland, overcoming an 18-point second-half deficit behind Powell’s 32 points.
That included a 22-point fourth quarter from Powell to down the Blazers 118-112.
The Jazz have been off since their Monday loss to the Chicago Bulls in which they blew their own double-digit second-half lead.
The Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers game is televised on AT&T SportsNet and can be heard on 97.5 The KSL Sports Zone. The game will also be streamed on DirecTV Stream and FuboTV.
