College Football Playoff Rankings Released, Set Up Pac-12 Title Battle

SALT LAKE CITY- The latest CFP rankings have been released further setting up an epic battle between Utah and USC for the Pac-12 Title in Las Vegas. The Trojans come in at No. 4 and the Utes slide in at No. 11 putting a lot at stake for both teams.

USC has CFP ambitions and it’s well within their grasp, but Utah has been determined to repeat at Pac-12 Champions and go to the storied Rose Bowl for a second year in a row. The latest College Football Rankings set up both teams to reach their dreams but only one will come out victorious.
A Strong Year For The Pac-12 In The CFP Rankings
Four other teams outside of Utah and USC in the Pac-12 are currently ranked in the College Football Playoff. Washington (No. 12), Oregon (No. 16), UCLA (No. 17), and Oregon State (No. 15) have all had impressive showings in 2022 and been rewarded for it.
In fact, the competition in the Pac-12 was so good this season that four of the last seven games of the year had Pac-12 Championship implications (UCLA vs. Cal, Oregon vs. Oregon State, Utah vs. Colorado, and Washington vs. Washington State) with another game having potential College Football Playoff implications (Notre Dame vs. USC). There were only two games played during Rivalry Week that didn’t have anything other than bragging rights riding on them (Arizona State vs. Arizona and BYU vs. Stanford).

Additionally, the Pac-12 will have seven total bowl eligible teams with Washinton State missing the cut to be ranked but crossing the all-important six game threshold.
