SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz surrendered an 11-point second half lead and fell to the Chicago Bulls 114-107 extending their losing streak to five games.

Lauri Markkanen scored 24 first half points but was held to just eight in the second half as the Jazz struggled to keep up with the Bulls’ offense.

DeMar DeRozan scored 26 to lead Chicago as the Jazz lost their eighth game in 10 outings.

First Quarter

The Jazz got strong offensive contributions early from Lauri Markkanen and Jarred Vanderbilt who was aggressive cutting to the rim and finishing putbacks.

The Bulls answered with Nikola Vucevic who took advantage of the Jazz weaker interior defense.

Markkanen had 11 points to lead the Jazz while Vucevic led the Bulls with eight.

After one the Jazz and Bulls were tied at 27.

Second Quarter

Markkanen continued his hot shooting into the second quarter knocking down all five of his field goal attempts and both of his threes.

The Jazz second unit got the better of the Bulls in the quarter spearheaded by Malik Beasley who had six points and was +10 in nine minutes.

Markkanen had 24 at the half while Vucevic had 14 to lead Chicago.

At the break, the Jazz led the Bulls 60-53.

Third Quarter

DeMar DeRozan come out aggressively in the third quarter scoring 12 points on 4-7 shooting.

The Bulls made an effort to keep the ball out of Markkanen’s hands and succeeded, limiting the forward to 2-5 shooting for 6 points in the third.

Chicago outscored the Jazz 33-20 in the third quarter.

After three the Jazz trailed the Bulls 86-80.

Fourth Quarter

The Bulls built their lead to as large as 12 but the Jazz cut their deficit to three behind the play of Collin Sexton and Kelly Olynyk.

However, with the Jazz trailing by four late in the fourth, Olynyk turned the ball over and Sexton committed a clear-path foul that led to a four-point possession for the Bulls.

The eight-point deficit proved too much to overcome and the Jazz fell to the Bulls for their fifth straight loss.

The Bulls beat the Jazz 114-107.
