SALT LAKE CITY-Â It’s been a good 24 hours for the Utes beating Colorado, clinching their fourth trip the Pac-12 Championship (with some help) and now they will be welcoming a four-star offensive tackle to the mix for the 2023 season.
Caleb Lomu announced his intention to play for Kyle Whittingham and Utah Sunday afternoon via Twitter. Lomu is a 6’5″, 265-pound athletic monster who will be a great addition to Jim Harding’s OBlock.

“First, I want to thank God for giving me the ability to play this amazing game of football and for all of the blessings I’ve received because of it. Thank you to my parents and family for sacrificing and supporting me through this process and all my years of football and for my friends who have stuck by me and supported my decisions. I want to thank Coach Farrel, Coach Critchfield and Coach Fair and all of the other coaches at Highland High School that have shaped me and taught me how to be better on and off the field. And my teammates now and throughout the years that have pushed me and played a part in who I am today. I have loved every second of high school football. Thank you to VDYL for helping me get better at what I love and taking the time to get me where I needed to be. Thank you to all of the college coaches that I have had the pleasure to meet and build relationships with. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to play football at the next level and showing so much respect to me and my family. It’s been such a long and hard process but I’m so grateful for all of it. After tons of prayer and talking with my family, I am so excited to announce my commitment to The University of Utah!”
