No. 14 Utah Ends Regular Season With Blowout Win Over Colorado

SALT LAKE CITY – The 14th-ranked Utah Utes football team wrapped up their regular season with a 63-21 win over Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder.
Cam Rising played in the first half for Utah and completed 17 of his 19 pass attempts for 234 yards and three touchdowns. Ja’Quinden Jackson had 10 carries for a career-high 117 yards and three touchdowns. Micah Bernard racked up 91 yards rushing on 12 carries and one touchdown. Dalton Kincaid finished with five catches for 102 yards and one touchdown.
First Quarter
Midway through the first quarter, Micah Bernard ran in an eight-yard touchdown to give Utah a 7-0 lead over Colorado with 6:35 remaining in the opening period.

With 2:20 remaining in the first quarter, Ja’Quinden Jackson ran in a 10-yard touchdown to give Utah a 14-0 lead over Colorado.
It’s the fourth rushing touchdown of the season for Jackson. Through that point in the game, he had three carries for 21 yards and a score.

Second Quarter
With 12:34 remaining in the second quarter, Cam Rising lined up as a wide receiver, while Ja’Quinden Jackson took the direct snap into the end zone from two yards out. That gave the Utes a 21-0 lead.

With 4:43 remaining in the second quarter, Thomas Yassmin hurdled a Buffaloes defender and scored a 41-yard touchdown to give Utah a 28-0 lead with 4:36 remaining in the second quarter.
That was Yassmin’s first catch of the game. It’s his fourth receiving touchdown of the season.

With 52 seconds left in the second quarter, Cam Rising went out of the pocket and found Money Parks wide-open in the end zone for a nine-yard touchdown. It’s the second passing touchdown of the game for Rising and completed 16 of his 18 pass attempts for 172 yards. He also ran once for 13 yards.
Parks had three catches for 33 yards and one TD in the first half. It’s the 21st passing touchdown of the season for Rising and the first receiving touchdown of the year for Parks.

With three seconds left in the second quarter, Cam Rising found Dalton Kincaid for a 29-yard touchdown to give Utah a 42-0 lead over the Buffs.
It was an impressive catch for Kincaid since he had to adjust his body while the ball was in the air and grabbed the ball with two defenders near him. Kincaid looked like he got banged up on the play and got a head start to the locker room. In the first half, Kincaid had five catches for 102 yards and one TD. Rising completed 17 of his 19 pass attempts for 234 yards and three touchdowns.
It’s the eighth touchdown catch for Kincaid this season and the 22nd touchdown pass by Rising.
Third Quarter
Bryson Barnes entered the game at quarterback to start the second half. But the Buffaloes scored their first touchdown of the game on a one-yard run by Alex Fontenot. Utah held a 42-7 lead with 11:47 remaining in the third quarter.

Minutes later, Ja’Quinden Jackson scored his third touchdown of the game from 66 yards out to extend Utah’s lead to 49-7 with 10:59 left in the third quarter.

With 5:37 remaining in the third quarter, Bryson Barnes found Makai Cope for a 21-yard touchdown to put Utah up 56-7. It’s the first career touchdown reception for Cope.

Later in the third quarter, Anthony Hankerson ran in a 23-yard touchdown to cut Utah’s lead to 56-14 with 2:59 remaining in the third.

Fourth Quarter
With 8:34 remaining in the game, Jaylon Glover ran in a five-yard touchdown, his first of the game to give the Utes a 63-14 lead.

The last touchdown of the game was a one-yard touchdown pass from M. Kopp to Frank Fillip to cut Utah’s lead to 63-21 lead with 2:46 left in the game.

Utah finished the regular season with a 9-3 overall record and 7-2 in Pac-12 play. If Washington beats Washington State, the Utes will face USC in the Pac-12 Championship game on Friday, December 2 at 6 p.m. MT on FOX.
