Cooper Legas Throws Long TD Pass To Terrell Vaughn Late In 3Q

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State quarterback Cooper Legas threw a deep touchdown pass to Terrell Vaughn late in the third quarter against Boise State on Friday.
With 10 seconds left in the third quarter and Utah State with their backs against the wall, Cooper Legas threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Terrell Vaughn. That cut the Boise State lead to 28-17.
Through three quarters, Legas completed 16 of his 27 pass attempts for 200 yards and one touchdown, along with 10 carries for 51 yards. Vaughn had seven receptions for 117 yards and one TD to go with four rushes for 22 yards and a score.
It’s the 11th touchdown pass of the season for Legas. Vaughn broke the tie for the team lead with his fifth touchdown catch and sixth total TD this season.

Defensively, Boise State provides a formidable test. Fourth in the MW in stopping the run, the Broncos pass defense allows a conference-best 145.4 yards per game. JL Skinner leads the secondary with four interceptions and four pass breakups. Rodney Robinson has picked off three balls this year.
Graduate senior wide receiver Brian Cobbs (63 receptions) is just four grabs away from entering the top 10 in school history for receptions in a season.
