Bogdanovic Leads Detroit Pistons Over Jazz In Return To Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz suffered their worst loss of the season falling to the Detroit Pistons 125-116.
The Jazz badly missed Mike Conley in the fourth quarter as the team never found a reliable scoring option late in the game.
The Pistons, on the second night of a back-to-back, repeatedly abused the Jazz’s slow-to-rotate defense in the victory.
Malik Beasley led the Jazz with 29 points while former Jazzman Bojan Bogdanovic led the Pistons with 23.
First Quarter
The Pistons jumped out to an early 12-5 lead thanks to hot shooting and poor Jazz defense.
The Jazz answered back with a 12-7 run to take a 20-19 lead late in the quarter.

Will Hardy opted to play Udoka Azubuike and Walker Kessler together on the floor to finish the quarter and the Pistons hit an open three to break the zone defense.
After one the Jazz trailed the Pistons 30-25.
Second Quarter
The Pistons built their lead to 14 at 43-29 three minutes into the second quarter as the Jazz struggled to get stops.
The Jazz answered with a 14-4 run to trim their deficit to four with three minutes left in the half.

However, the Pistons finished strong rebuilding their lead to 12 at the break fueled by 11 points from Jaden Ivey. Malik Beasley had 17 points to lead the Jazz.
At halftime, the Jazz trailed the Pistons 66-54.
Third Quarter
Marvin Bagley repeatedly abused the Jazz low post defense scoring his first 19 points of the game on a super-efficient 9-10 from the floor.
Lauri Markkanen struggled for the Jazz throughout the first half and didn’t score his first points of the game until the 8:34 mark of the third quarter.

Simone Fontecchio hit a pair of threes to close the deficit to four, the Pistons responded again to close the quarter.
After three the Jazz trailed the Pistons 98-90.
Fourth Quarter
The Jazz continued to threaten to retake the lead throughout the fourth quarter but the Pistons answered at every opportunity.
Kevin Knox knocked down 6-8 three-pointers, including 3-4 in the fourth quarter to carry the Pistons offense.
Without Mike Conley, the Jazz couldn’t find a consistent look on offense and it cost them for a second straight game.
