SALT LAKE CITY- Much like the AP Top 25 on Sunday, the Utes dropped in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings after a poor performance over the weekend against Oregon. Utah comes into this week’s rankings at No. 14.

The Utes were ranked No. 10 heading into last week, but offensively couldn’t get much going in Eugene despite a strong defensive showing. Add in kicking game woes, and a lot was left to be desired in a game the Utes woulda, coulda, shoulda had. Even with the disappointing loss, Utah still has a chance to be the second team in the Pac-12 Championship Game next week along with USC but will need some help.
Taking A Look At The CFP And Pac-12
The Pac-12’s two big games last weekend both came down to the wire, with USC getting by UCLA and Oregon side-stepping Utah. The Trojans came in at No. 6 and Oregon to No. 9 for winning their games. UCLA, like Utah, was dropped to No. 18 for not quite getting it done on Saturday night.
Also being rewarded for big wins over the weekend was Washington who moved up to No. 13 and Oregon State who also moved up to No. 21.
The Pac-12 currently has seven bowl-eligible teams with Washington State having crossed the six-game threshold along with the other six ranked teams making 2022 perhaps the best season the conference in a while.
