Report: Utah Jazz Guard Mike Conley Avoids Serious Knee Injury

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Mike Conley avoided a serious knee injury after he was ruled out from returning during the second half of Utah’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The Blazers hosted the Jazz at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, November 19.
Utah defeated Portland despite playing without Conley for most the second half. The Jazz guard underwent an MRI after the game.
According to the NBA insider, Conley will miss some time, but didn’t suffer a significant injury.
”Sources: Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley Jr. avoided major injury or ligament damage on the non-contact left knee injury suffered Saturday night. He has a knee strain and is expected to miss at least two weeks,” Charania tweeted.

With 10:22 left in the third quarter and Utah owning a 63-56 lead, Conley suffered an injury to his left knee.

Later in the quarter, the Jazz announced that Conley would not return to action against Portland.

Before leaving the game, Conley had one rebound, three assists, and a steal in nine minutes on the court.
The Jazz held on for a 118-113 win.
This season, Conley is averaging 10.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 29.2 minutes per game.

With the win, the Jazz leaped Portland for the top spot in the Western Conference with a 12-6 record after falling to the fourth seed a week ago.
Malik Beasley scored a season-high 28 points while Jordan Clarkson’s late rally carried the Jazz to the victory.

Utah’s next game is on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, November 21. The game will tip-off at 8:30 p.m. (MDT) on AT&T SportsNet, NBA League Pass, and KSL Sports Zone.
The Jazz beat the Clippers, 110-102, in Los Angeles on November 6. Clarkson led the Jazz with 23 points and Collin Sexton added 22 off the bench. Conley had 17 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in Utah’s win.
