SALT LAKE CITY- Utah drops in the latest AP Top 25 Poll after laying an egg against Oregon Saturday night. The Utes were in a prime position at No. 10 last week to really make some noise with a win but couldn’t get the job done in Eugene. The voters ultimately dropped Utah four spots to No. 14 for coming up short against the Ducks.

The Utes were playing for a spot in the Pac-12 Championship game to defend their crown from last season. However, sloppy play and uncharacteristic mistakes at the worst time most likely cost Utah the chance. There is still an outside way the Utes could still be in the conference championship game, but it will require a lot of help from other Pac-12 teams to make it possible.

Taking A Look Around The Pac-12 Outside Of Utah

The Pac-12’s two big games both came down to the wire, with USC squeaking past UCLA and Oregon getting the edge on Utah. The Trojans moved up to No. 5 and Oregon to No. 10 for winning their games. UCLA, like Utah, was dropped to No. 17 for not quite getting it done on Saturday night.

Also being rewarded for big wins over the weekend was Washington who moved up to No. 12 and Oregon State who also moved up to No. 22.

The Pac-12 currently has seven bowl-eligible teams with Washington State having crossed the six-game threshold along with the other six ranked teams making 2022 perhaps the best season the conference in a while.
