PROVO, Utah – BYU and UVU women’s soccer teams have punched their tickets to the NCAA Tournament. The 2022 bracket was unveiled on Monday, and BYU earned a 6-seed as an at-large.

BYU will host Utah Valley, who, like the Cougars, also received an at-large bid.

UVU defeated BYU earlier this year

The game will be played on Friday, November 11, on South Field in Provo at 6 p.m. (MT). Earlier this season, the two programs met in Provo on September 10. Utah Valley won that match, 4 to 2. It’s the last time BYU lost this season.

Dating back to 2012, BYU leads the all-time series against Utah Valley, 6-1.

BYU soccer is the defending National Runner-Up

BYU comes into the 2022 NCAA Tournament as the defending National Runner-Up after falling to Florida State last season in the College Cup in penalty kicks. Jennifer Rockwood’s squad has a record of 10-2-6 this season.

Utah Valley enters the tournament with a 14-4-3 record. The Wolverines lost to New Mexico State yesterday in the WAC Tournament Championship game.

BYU has won five of its last six matches, with the lone non-victory coming in a scoreless tie to WCC Champion Santa Clara on October 29.

The BYU/Utah Valley winner will face the team that advances from the San Jose State/Stanford matchup. Perennial soccer powerhouse Stanford is a 3-seed in this year’s tournament.
