No. 1 Lehi Escapes Box Elder In 5A Quarterfinals

SALT LAKE CITY – The Lehi Pioneers came from behind to beat the Box Elder Bees and advance from the 5A quarterfinals.

No. 9 Box Elder 21 @ No. 1 Lehi 28
The Pioneers remained undefeated after a 28-21 win over the Bees. Box Elder owned an 8-7 lead at the halftime break and a 21-14 edge midway through the fourth quarter. However, the Pioneers scored a pair of touchdowns in the final two minutes of action thanks to runs by Carson Gonzalez. Gonzalez finished the game with three rushing touchdowns.
Lehi will advance to the 5A semifinal and will face No. 4 Stansbury on Friday, November 11 at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Kickoff is at 11:00 a.m. MT on KSLSports.com.

No. 21 Olympus 7 @ No. 4 Stansbury 42
The Stansbury Stallions stormed past the Olympus Titans on Friday night, 42-7. After a 7-7 first quarter, the Stallions scored 35 unanswered points over the following two quarters on their way to capturing victory and moving on to the 5A semifinals. Ezra Harris tossed three touchdown passes for the Stallions.
Stansbury will advance to the 5A semifinal and will face No. 1 Lehi on Friday, November 11 at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Kickoff is at 11:00 a.m. MT on KSLSports.com.
No. 19 Alta 24 @ No. 11 Orem 26
The Orem Tigers escaped the Alta Hawks for a two-point win on Friday, 26-24. The Tigers blocked a potential game-winning field goal by the Hawks. Orem scored a game-winning field of its own with 1:12 left in the fourth quarter. Lance Reynolds led the Tigers with a pair of touchdown passes to Roger Saleapaga.
Orem will advance to the 5A semifinal and will face No. 2 Timpview on Friday, November 11 at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Kickoff is at 2:00 p.m. MT on KSLSports.com.
