Hurts Helps Eagles To Win Over Texans, First 8-0 Start In Franchise History

SALT LAKE CITY – Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles took down the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football for the first 8-0 start in franchise history.

The Texans hosted the Eagles at NRG Stadium on Thursday, November 3.

The Texans hung with the Eagles during the first 30 minutes of game time. However, during the second half, Philadelphia overpowered Houston behind a couple of touchdown passes from Hurts.
The Texans opened the game with a touchdown pass from Davis Mills to Tegan Quitoriano at the 9:37 mark of the first quarter.
With 1:33 remaining in the opening quarter, Miles Sanders ran for two yards and six points to get the Eagles on the scoreboard.
The next 10 or so minutes were scoreless before Kenneth Gainwell gained four yards on his way across the goal line. Gainwell’s run helped the Eagles take a 14-7 lead.
Late in the half, Mills connected with Chris Moore for 13 yards and the Texans tied the game at 14-14 with 43 seconds to go until the halftime break.
In the third quarter, Hurts hit A.J. Brown for a 17-yard touchdown to capitalize on a Texans turnover.
With 1:15 left in the third quarter, the Texans added a field goal to cut Philadelphia’s lead to 21-17.
Hurts tossed another touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter to push the Eagles’ lead to two scores.

Late in the game, Mills tossed another interception to seal Philadelphia’s win and end Houston’s chances of a comeback.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 8-0 for the first time in franchise history. The Texans fell to 1-6-1 with the loss.

Hurts finished the game 21/27 passing for 243 yards and two touchdowns. He had a rating of 128.9.
