SALT LAKE CITY – The Weber State football team looks to rebound for their first victory of the season in a home matchup with the Montana Grizzlies.

The No. 7 ranked Wildcats (6-1, 3-1) are slated to host the No. 10 Grizzlies (5-2, 2-2) at Elizabeth Dee Shaw Stewart Stadium in Ogden, Utah on Saturday, October 29.

Weber State‘s contest will be the only college football game in the state of Utah on Saturday.

“Weber State is the only game going in Utah Saturday. That place should be jam packed. Big game,” KSL Sports Zone‘s Han Olsen tweeted about the contest.

Both teams will enter the meeting coming off losses.

Weber State suffered its first defeat of the season to the Montana State Bobcats on October 22. Montana will arrive in Ogden having dropped its last two games for the Grizzlies’ first losses of the season.

After winning its first six games of the season, Weber State fell to Montana State on the road by five points.

Montana earned victories in its first five games before losing at home by seven points to Idaho and on the road by seven points to the Sacramento State Hornets.

A key matchup to watch during Saturday’s contest is between the quarterbacks. This season, Wildcats quarterback Bronson Barron had thrown for 1,585 yards, 12 touchdowns, and five interceptions with a completion rate of 62.8 percent.

The Grizzlies are led by quarterback Lucas Johnson, who has thrown for 1,240 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions with a 64.3 percent completion rate this fall

On the ground, Weber State is led by Damon Bankston’s 77 carries for 422 yard and five touchdowns in seven games.

The Wildcats’ leading receiver is Ty MacPherson, who has 30 catches for 570 yards and seven touchdowns.

Weber State’s game against Montana is slated for kickoff at 1 p.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on KJZZ, ESPN+, and 103.1 FM. Tickets for the game are available via
