Box Elder Scores Late TD To Beat Provo, Advance From Second Round

SALT LAKE CITY – A late touchdown lifted the Box Elder Bees to a win over the Provo Bulldogs, 24-21.
No. 9 Box Elder 24 @ No. 8 Provo 21
With 2:09 left in the fourth quarter, Ryan Griffin ran into the end zone for a five-yard touchdown to put the Bees in front. Griffin led Box Elder with two total touchdowns.

No. 16 Park City 6 @ No. 1 Lehi 40
The No. 1 Lehi Pioneers stayed undefeated with a blowout victory over the Park City Miners. The Pioneers shut out the Miners through the first three quarters and only allowed Park City to score six points in the fourth quarter. Entering the final 12 minutes of game time, Lehi owned a 37-0 lead. Jackson Brousseau threw four touchdown passes in Lehi’s win.

No. 13 Cedar Valley 21 @ No. 4 Stansbury 36
The Stansbury Stallions ran past the Cedar Valley Aviators on Friday night, 36-21. Cedar Valley owned a 21-17 lead at halftime, but Stansbury shut out the Aviators in the second half. The Stallions scored 19 points in the second half to capture the win. Ezra Harris threw three touchdown passes for Stansbury.
No. 21 Olympus 28 @ No. 5 Brighton 20
The Olympus Titans jumped ahead late to beat the Brighton Bengals, 28-20. Through three quarters, the two teams were knotted at 14-14. Olympus outscored Brighton by eight points over the final 12 minutes to earn the victory. Nic Brown scored three rushing touchdowns for the Titans.

No. 15 East 7 @ No. 2 Timpview 35
The Timpview Thunderbirds used a big first half to beat the East Leopards, 35-7. Timpview scored all of its total during the first two quarters. The Thunderbirds took control early thanks to three touchdowns in the first quarter. Helaman Casuga tossed three touchdown passes for Timpview.
No. 23 Wasatch 49 @ No. 7 Spanish Fork 42
The Wasatch Wasps outscored the Spanish Fork Dons in a 49-42 shootout. The Wasps scored 14 points in final quarter to come away with a big road victory and advance in the postseason. Wasatch’s Mack Kelson tossed three toucdown passes and Chris Cook ran in a pair of scores for the Wasps.
No. 19 Alta 34 @ No. 3 Springville 27
The Alta Hawks held off the Springville Red Devils to advance in the postseason with 34-27 win. Springville was shutout in the first half and exploded for 27 points compared to Alta’s three points. However, the Hawks’ early lead was enough to win. Matt McKea tossed three touchdown passes for the Hawks.
No. 11 Orem 35 @ No. 6 Bountiful 25
The Orem Tigers went on the road and beat the Bountiful Redhawks, 35-25. The Tigers came from behind and captured the win thanks to a 21-point fourth quarter. Orem was led by Lance Reynolds and Cole Johnson, who each scored a pair of touchdowns.
