Instant Replay: Colts’ Blackmon Plays Along With Guessing Game
SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current Indianapolis Colts safety Julian Blackmon played along with some teammates in a cute guessing game based on a children’s painting.
In a video posted by the Colts’ official Twitter account on Thursday, October 27, the third-year NFL safety joined a few of his teammates in trying to guess which Indianapolis player had been painted by a five-year-old.
“POV: trying to guess a 5-year-old’s painting,” the Colts captioned the social media post featuring a painting of Indianapolis’ Grover Stewart.
“That’s Grove, that’s Grove,” Blackmon confidently guessed as he laughed. “Yep, knew it, knew it. Looks just like him. Tell him I said it.”

The video highlighted the lighter side of the former Utah defensive standout, who has underdone some hardships in recent years. During his final game as a Ute, Blackmon suffered a significant knee injury. The setback didn’t prevent the safety from being a third round selection by the Colts during the 2020 NFL Draft. After a solid rookie campaign, Blackmon suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in 2021. Following another big rehab, Blackmon has had his third season limited by an ankle sprain this year.
Despite the obstacles, Blackmon would never let you know of the difficulties he’s experienced as a football player. The former Utah star keeps a positive mindset and outlook on things.
“The goal is not to be successful and famous. The goal is if you have a specific God given ability, it’s to live your life out through that”- I love that🤍

During his NFL career, the former Ute has posted 82 total tackles, 67 solo tackles, two forced fumbles, two interceptions, and eight pass breakups in 25 games.
This season, Blackmon has recorded six total tackles, five solo tackles, and a pass breakup in four games played.
Blackmon and the Colts own a 3-3-1 record this season.
Indianapolis’ next game is at home against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, October 30 at 2:25 p.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on FOX and NFL Sunday Ticket.
