SALT LAKE CITY – The Houston Rockets took advantage of a tired Utah Jazz roster, snapping the team’s three-game unbeaten streak with a 114-108 victory.

Seven Jazz players scored in double figures, led by Jordan Clarkson who recorded 17 points, but the team struggled with turnovers and defensive stops throughout the game.

With the loss the Jazz moved to 3-1 on the season.

First Quarter

The Jazz came out with very little energy on the second night of a back-to-back turning the ball over and missing easy baskets.

Malik Beasley provided energy off the bench with five first quarter points to lead the Jazz in scoring.

The Jazz shot just 7-19 from the floor and 2-9 from the three-point line to open the game.

Kevin Porter Jr. had 10 points in the opening frame to lead the Rockets to a 21-18 lead after one.

Second Quarter

Collin Sexton gave the Jazz energy off the bench getting downhill and knocking down 3-4 first half buckets for eight points.

After three strong games to open the season Lauri Markkanen struggled to score missing seven of his 10 first half shots, including all five of his three-point attempts.

Jordan Clarkson had 10 points to lead the Jazz while Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green combined for 25 for the Rockets.

At the break, the Jazz trailed the Rockets 51-43.

Third Quarter

The Jazz used a 10-0 run early in the third quarter to tie the game at 57 but Houston never fully surrendered the lead.

Simone Fontecchio saw his first real NBA minutes late in the third quarter against Houston as Will Hardy went with a small lineup, but the group struggled on both ends of the floor.

Six Jazz players were in double figures after three quarters, but no player had more than 12.

Heading into the fourth quarter the Jazz trailed Houston 77-73.

Fourth Quarter

Will Hardy opened the fourth quarter with a new lineup featuring Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Talen Horton-Tucker, Malik Beasley, Simone Fontecchio, and Jarred Vanderbilt.

The Rockets took advantage of the lineup and built their lead to eight, 86-78 with 9:40 left in the game.

The Jazz used a 7-0 run to trim the Rockets lead to two with just under three minutes left to play

Jordan Clarkson had a chance to tie the game at 1109 with 30 seconds left to play but dribbled the ball off his foot, ultimately giving Houston their first win of the season.
