Deemed as the biggest home game in program history, Liberty showed up and beat down BYU.
To watch this with my buddy @CoachHughFreeze in charge is emotional for me. Great moment for him and this program. pic.twitter.com/s6Hn0ourhj

If you told me last year that I would see Liberty destroy BYU in football before seeing UVA beat them I would have laughed in your face.

Kalani Sitake said in the postgame that he called the defense today in the loss against Liberty.
"I'm gonna keep running the defense and then focusing on getting the defense better and executing."#BYU #BYUFotoball

Consistency of @LibertyFootballās program under @CoachHughFreeze has been really impressive. Flames rout BYU 41-14 to go to 7-1 and have a chance to win 10 games for 2nd time in last 3 years. Only loss was by 1 point to Wake Forest. Big games remaining vs. Arkansas and Va. Tech.

For more on BYU’s loss to Liberty, check out KSLSports.com BYU insider Mitch Harper’s Instant Takeaways:
“A team once ranked as high as No. 12 in the AP Top 25 is now in a spot where they will fight for bowl eligibility. Unfortunately, there is no game outside of Utah Tech that you can assume BYU will win at this point.
Puka Nacua was vocal in the postgame locker room to rally the team, but it feels like the season is done for BYU. Whether they win six games or eight, they are going to a bowl game that wonāt hold much significance. So what gets BYU to rally the troops and get the season back on track? Right now, it feels like the season canāt get any lower, as itās a rock bottom moment for a BYU squad that had lofty expectations coming into the season.” – Mitch Harper
