No. 21 Weber Advances To Second Round With Blowout Win Over No. 12 Roy

SALT LAKE CITY – The 21st-ranked Weber Warriors are moving on to the second round after a blowout win over No. 12 Roy in the first round on Friday.
No. 21 Weber 31 @ No. 12 Roy 14
Both teams exchanged scores in the first half with Weber holding a 17-14 lead at the break. The Royals were held scoreless in the second half, while Weber added 14 points. Aidan Carter threw four touchdowns in the win, two to Salesi Moa, and one each to Nakosi Swain and Crue Coggins.
Weber will face No. 5 Farmington on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.

No. 17 Herriman 14 @ No. 16 Layton 36
Tyler Wensel threw both of his touchdown passes to Elias Parkinson in the Lancers’ win over Herriman. Parkinson also had a pick-six, as did Jaxson Henderson and Teague Farr. Freddy Ta’Ai had a rushing touchdown for Herriman.
Layton will face No. 1 Corner Canyon on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.

No. 24 Hunter 9 @ No. 9 West 42
Isaiah SueSue finished with two passing touchdowns, connecting with Charlie Holbrook and Jacob Wilson. Efoti Vaenuku led the rushing attack with two touchdowns on the ground. Julius Tukoisuva and Sesi Vailahi each added one rushing score. Nathan Parke had Hunter’s lone touchdown.
West will battle No. 8 West Jordan on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.
No. 20 Westlake 25 @ No. 13 Mountain Ridge 28
The Sentinels held a 14-10 lead at halftime and was up 21-17 heading into the fourth quarter. Westlake scored eight points in the fourth with the Sentinels adding a touchdown to hold off the Thunder. For the Sentinels, Jaxson Reiser threw two touchdown passes, finding Bradon Jones and Payton Jones. Reiser and Semisi Kinikini each ran in a touchdown. For Westlake, Aiden Bayless passed for three touchdowns, connecting with Ezra Heiner, Colseon Quiring, and Aiden Hammond.
Mountain Ridge will square off with No. 4 American Fork on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.
No. 18 Fremont @ No. 15 Granger
The Silverwolves had a 13-7 lead at halftime. They added a touchdown and a field goal in the second half before Granger found the end zone for the second time.
Fremont will battle No. 2 Skyridge on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.
No. 23 Kearns 16 @ No. 10 Riverton 48
Andrew Nielson had two passing touchdowns, one each to Logan Dunfield and Luke Perri. Easton Hicks led the way with two rushing touchdowns, while Luke Hamblin added one rushing score. Wyatt Brown recorded a pick-six.
Riverton will square off with No. 7 Davis on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.
No. 19 Cyprus 38 @ No. 14 Pleasant Grove 63
The Vikings jumped out to a 35-14 lead in the first half and never looked back. Nic Staffieri threw six touchdown passes, all to different targets, including Tanner Blake, Makai Peterson, Cannon Hale, Shawn Cottle, Mataira, and Bronco Winterton. Jaeden Wright ran in two touchdowns, while Wade Christiansen added one score on the ground. For Cyprus, Skyler Armenta ran in three touchdowns. Dee Kofe and Benson Kofe each had one score on the ground.
Pleasant Grove will face No. 3 Bingham on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.

No. 22 Copper Hills 7 @ No. 11 Lone Peak 46
Jackson Blake accounted for two touchdowns, one passing, and one rushing. He found Crew McChesney for the lone passing TD. Kaden Hodson had two rushing touchdowns, while Easton Anderson and Brooks Wilde each had one.
Lone Peak will battle No. 6 Syracuse on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.
