Apple Steals Jazz TakeNote Hashtag
SALT LAKE CITY – Well this is awkward. The Utah Jazz have lost their TakeNote hashtag to tech giant Apple.
On Tuesday morning the Jazz learned that Apple was now using the hashtag that had been part of the team’s identity for the last several years.

As it turns out, the Jazz were caught off guard by losing the takenote hashtag.
At a press conference with Ryan Smith and Danny Ainge previewing the season, Smith admitted that he learned about the loss of the hashtag at the same time as the rest of the public.
The Jazz responded to Cook’s surprising tweet shortly after the announcement.

Smith and Cook have worked together previously on fundraising efforts for the local charity Encircle.
Each of the 30 NBA teams has a specific hashtag that auto-generates a logo or “shield” in a tweet throughout the season. During the offseason, Twitter drops the shields from the ends of the hashtags as teams rebrand and redesign their identity.
The social media outlet traditionally relaunches the shields early in the NBA season.
Currently, the Jazz don’t have a secondary hashtag set to replace TakeNote.
Jazz Unveil Redesign For 2023-23 Season
In addition to the yet-to-be-announced hashtag, the Jazz ushered in a new era of basketball with six new rebranded jerseys ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season.
The Jazz unveiled the long-rumored redesign over the summer featuring four jerseys that they plan to wear during the upcoming season along with two city edition jerseys that will be worn over the next two years, including a classic edition that will be used in the 2023-24 season.

The three new traditional uniforms highlight the Jazz updated black, white, and yellow color scheme. The team will also open the regular season in their purple mountain jerseys that were featured during the team’s two trips to the NBA Finals.
The Jazz open the regular season on Wednesday at Vivint Arena against the Denver Nuggets.
