Rising was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the week after going 30 of 44 passing for 415 yards and two touchdowns through the air. Rising was also deadly on the ground recording 11 touches for 60 yards and three touchdowns.
Daniels on the other hand won the Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week honors for helping to keep his quarterback upright against a USC defense that had been feasting on quarterbacks up to that point. Daniels’ effort also helped the Utes to tally 31 first downs (Rising accounted for 22 of them) on their way to victory.
Rising, Daniels And The Utes’ Special Night
Rising and Daniels were big parts of the Utes’ taking care of business against USC on a night the team chose to honor fallen teammates Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe, but not the only ones with big games.
Tight end Dalton Kincaid caught all 16 passes thrown his way from Rising for 234 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s contest. Receiver Devaughn Vele added five more receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown as well.

Defensively, the Utes showed the most toughness and grit they had all season in the front seven getting pressure on USC’s quarterback when it was needed most. Defensive ends Jonah Elliss and Gabe Reid, linebacker Karene Reid, and cornerback Clark Phillips III all recorded sacks on Trojan quarterback Caleb Williams who had been well-protected up to that point in the season.
Up Next For Utah
Up next the Utes have much needed BYE week to rest and heal up any dings and bruises. The following week Utah will be back on the road to take on Washington State in Pullman for a late-night Thursday showdown in the Palouse.
