Eagles Stay Perfect With Sunday Night Football Win Over Cowboys

SALT LAKE CITY – The Philadelphia Eagles kept their record perfect with a big win over a division rival in the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

Eagles beat Cowboys on Sunday Night Football

The Eagles hosted the Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sunday, October 16.

Philadelphia defeated Dallas, 26-17.

The contest began to look like a blowout in the first half as the Eagles were in full control at the halftime break. Following a scoreless first quarter, Philadelphia scored 20 unaswered points in the second quarter before Dallas got on the scoreboard with a field goal late in the first half.

Miles Sanders got things going with a five-yard touchdown run before Jalen Hurts hit A.J. Brown for an 18-yard TD pass with 10:40 until halftime.

Jake Elliott connected on pair of field goals to make it 20-0 before Brett Maher made a 29-yard kick to give Dallas its first three points.

In the second half, the Cowboys bounced back thanks to a 14-yard carry for six points by Ezekiel Elliott in the third quarter and a touchdown pass from Cooper Rush to Jake Ferguson in the opening minute of the final quarter.

However, Hurts and the Eagles responding by marching down the field for another score. The former Alabama and Oklahoma signal-caller found DeVonta Smith for a seven-yard score to give Philadelphia a nine-point lead with a little over seven minutes left to play. The Eagles failed on a two-point try after the touchdown.

With a couple of minutes remaining on the clock, the Cowboys tried to make it a one-score game, but Maher missed from long range and the Eagles controlled the remainder of the contest to close out the win.

Hurts finished the game 15/25 passing for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Sanders ran the ball 18 times for 71 yards and a touchdown. Rush threw for 181 yards on 18/38 passing, but tossed three interceptions to only one touchdown pass.

With the result, the Cowboys fell to 4-2 and the Eagles improved to 6-0 this season.

Dallas’ next game is at home against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, October 23 at 11 a.m. (MDT) on CBS.

Philadelphia has a bye in Week 7 before returning to action at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, October 30.
