SALT LAKE CITY- After an incredible game against USC for the Utes, tight end Dalton Kincaid was named the Reese’s Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week. Kincaid is a player that the Senior Bowl and it’s Executive Director Jim Nagy has had their eyes on for a while and he showed exactly why in Saturday night’s showdown.
The Reese’s Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week is @Utah_Football TE @_DaltonKincaid. Kincaid racked up 234 yards on 16 targets for 16 receptions and a TD, the most receiving yards for a TE since at least 1996. #GoUtes #TheDraftStartsInMOBILE™️ pic.twitter.com/njtL2FcMHT

Obviously, Kincaid has the size you want in a tight end at 6’4″ and 240 pounds to block, but he is so much more than a blocking tight end for the Utes. Against USC, Kincaid was targeted 16 times and came down with all 16 passes- he needed just one more reception to break the NCAA record. With those 16 passes caught, Kincaid also racked up 234 yards of offense all on his own with one touchdown. Kincaid was averaging 14.6 yards per play.
2022 in general has been really good for Kincaid. On the season he has 39 receptions for 558 yards and six touchdowns. Kincaid’s average yard per play in 2022 is 14.3 making him a weapon for the Utes- especially with Brant Kuithe sustaining a season-ending injury against ASU.
Dalton Kincaid And The Senior Bowl
This isn’t the first time, nor probably the last time Kincaid will receive love from Nagy and the Reese’s Senior Bowl. Earlier in the year when Kincaid announced his intention to stay one more year with the Utes, it was revealed that he and fellow tight end Brant Kuithe turned down Senior Bowl invites to do so.
In the summer, Nagy pointed out Kincaid, along with Kuithe and quarterback Cam Rising as players to keep an eye on after Nagy watched Rising at the Manning Passing Academy.
The Senior Bowl has generally been high on potential NFL prospects out of Utah. Before the season began, seven Utes players were named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl watch list including Kincaid among others.
