SALT LAKE CITY- No. 7 USC is paying No. 20 Utah a visit this evening in what might be one of the most important Pac-12 matchups of the year, and College GameDay made their picks known.
The Utes are coming off a painful loss to UCLA last weekend in Pasadena that ended their College Football Playoff dreams for 2022, but they still can contend for the Pac-12 Title and Rose Bowl berth with a win against the Trojans.
USC on the other hand is heading into Salt Lake City undefeated and wanting to keep it that way after years of mediocrity under various head coaches after Pete Carroll headed for the NFL.
The GameDay Picks Are In
The College GameDay crew along with special guest picker Payton Manning were really feeling USC, despite Utah being favored at home.

Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit liked the Utes at home, and both said they wanted to see a little more from USC on the road.
However, Pat McAffe, guest picker Payton Manning and Lee Corso were less optimistic about Utah, pointing out that they’ve struggled to stop the run against Florida and UCLA while USC quarterback Caleb Williams has proven to be special.
USC and Utah officially kickoff later this evening at 6 p.m. MT on FOX. Historically, this series usually comes down to the wire and typically the winner has been the home team. Both teams have a lot to lose with a loss and a lot to gain with a win.
The Utes will be wearing special uniforms to honor the late Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe. Last season the Trojans were the first opponent out of Utah’s BYE week after Lowe was tragically murdered at a house party. Utah will be hoping to recreate some of that magic again today in front of their home crowd.
