No. 9 Brighton Shuts Down Murray In Regular Season Finale

SALT LAKE CITY – The ninth-ranked Brighton Bengals had a strong end to the regular season with a shutout 70-0 win over the Murray Spartans on Wednesday.
Murray 0 @ #9 Brighton 70
Brighton took an early 34-0 lead over the Spartans and never looked back. The Bengals finish the season at 9-1. Jack Johnson threw five touchdowns in the game and concludes a great regular season.

Here are all of the results in the 5A classification from the final week of the 2022 high school football regular season.
Region 6
#13 East 42 @ Highland 7
Since the beginning of August the story of East High school has been the story of Amini Amone, as the stud running back goes, the Leopards go. Amone put up three touchdowns in a dominant win over Highland and East finishes the year at 6-4 in the regular season.
Skyline 7 @ Olympus 13 (Thurs.)
Will Rigby started the game with a pair of field goals for the Titans. The only Olympus touchdown came late in the third quarter when Jackson Godfrey scored on the ground. Skyline’s lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a four-yard run by Miles J. Parker.
Region 7
#6 Stansbury 71 @ Timpanogos 35
Stansbury finishes an undefeated season with a blowout win over Timpanogos. Brock Wilson scores four touchdowns for the Stallions in the win. Ezra Harris throws three touchdowns. Timpanogos put together an impressive 7-3 season themselves.
Tooele 13@ Uintah 28
Dace O’Bagy leads the Utes with two rushing touchdowns as Uintah gets their first-ever win over Tooele.
Hillcrest 0 @ #25 Cedar Valley 73
The Aviators scored 10 touchdowns and finished the season at 7-3. Cooper Thomson threw three scores in the victory. Clayson Jankins and Joe Lomu both ran for scores as the Aviators dominated.
#24 Payson 42 @ Mountain View 7
Payson finished 7-3 in the regular season. The combination of Cooper Swasey and Kade Edwards hooked up four times as the Lions dominated a Bruins team that finished the year at 1-9. Jackson Bulkley also ran for a score in the Payson victory.
Region 8
Jordan 6 @ #4 Timpview 77
The Thunderbirds dominated with 56 points in the first half. The T-Birds scored 11 total touchdowns in this game. Luke Atuaia, Micha Beckstead, Brent Kimble, and Loketi Taholo are just some of the touchdown scorers. Timpview finished the regular season with an 8-2 record.

Non-Region
Logan (4A) 49 @ Cottonwood 13
Logan finished a middling 5-5 season with a win over Cottonwood. QB Keaton Pond threw four touchdown passes in the win.
Ridgeline (4A) 14 @ Box Elder 28
The score was tied at 14 going into the fourth. Box Elder got the last-second win with Daxton Sumko scoring two touchdowns in the win. Box Elder finished the regular season with a 7-3 record.
#17 Spanish Fork 20 @ #23 Woods Cross 17
Down 17-13 going into the fourth, the Dons came back to pick up the win. Sai Maugh gets the game-winning touchdown catch on a 35-yard strike from Will Dart, his only touchdown of the night.
Higley (AZ) @ Northridge (Fri.)
Higley carried a 34-30 lead into halftime and proceeded to pull away from the Knights in the second half. 37 unanswered points carried Higley to a 57-26 win over 2-8 Northridge. Porter Olsen finished with four touchdowns passes in the loss.
