No. 8 West Wins Region 2 Title After Shutout Victory Over Granger

SALT LAKE CITY – The eighth-ranked West Panthers claimed the Region 2 title after a 42-0 road win over the Granger Lancers on Wednesday night.

The Panthers claimed the outright Region 2 title with their win over Granger. Efoti Vaenuku ran in two touchdowns. Louie Hamiloton, Jacob Wilson, Sesi Vailahi, and Tai Arona each ran in a touchdown for West.
Here are all of the results in the 6A classification from the final week of the 2022 high school football regular season.
Region 1
Weber 10 @ Fremont 17
The first points of the game didn’t come until the third quarter when Fremont’s Brigg Grange ran in a touchdown. The Silverwolves went into the fourth quarter with a 10-0 lead after making a field goal before the third ended. Weber found the end zone when Nakosi Swain ran in a touchdown. The Warriors added a field goal with three minutes left in the game to level up the score at 10. Grange put Fremont ahead for good with a touchdown run with one minute left in the game.
Clearfield 14 @ #19 Davis 48
Jackson Stevens threw for five touchdowns, connecting with Tyson Elkins three times, and once each to Kai Byrd, Josh Barker, and Easton Baggett. Max Martineau also threw a TD pass. For Clearfield, Peyton Hoover threw a touchdown pass to Tanner Hittle and Jordan Tovey threw a TD to Hittle.
#12 Farmington 20 @ #11 Syracuse 40 (Thurs.)
Both Jake Hopkins and Jake Metcalfe threw one touchdown pass, connecting with Dylan Croxford and DJ Mayes. Breven Hamblin and Kobe Bennett each scored a rushing touchdown for Syracuse. Hamblin also recorded a pick-six. Farmington QB Easton Wright threw three touchdown passes, two to Adam Stucki and one to Mitch Nielsen.
Region 2
Roy 42 @ Taylorsville 0
Colby Frokjer and Dru Gardner combined for four touchdown passes, connecting with Corben Schuffenauer, Jacob Viers, Da’Von Harvey, and DaeQwan Snider. Logan Cella added two rushing TD’s.
Kearns 34 @ Cyprus 52 (Thurs.)
Skyler Armenta, Julian Garcia, and Dee Kofe each ran in two touchdowns. Jeff Griffith added one rushing TD for the Pirates. Cyprus picked up their fourth win of the season.
Region 3
#15 Riverton @ #5 Bingham (Fri.)
Riverton fell behind early and couldn’t overcome a four touchdown deficit as Bingham finished the regular season with a 42-21 win. Carson Sudbury had a huge night as he scored five of the Miners six rushing touchdowns on the night.
Copper Hills @ West Jordan (Fri.)
Dameon Crosby found the end zone twice for West Jordan as the Jaguars beat Copper Hills 34-10 on Friday night. Jerome Myles added receiving and rushing scores for West Jordan in the win.
Mountain Ridge @ Herriman (Fri.)
Herriman capped a disappointing season with an upset, 37-17 win over Mountain Ridge. Mustang quarterback Freddy Ta’Ai threw for four scores and added a fifth TD with his legs in the victory.
Region 4
#21 Pleasant Grove 21 @ #2 Corner Canyon 45
Corner Canyon held a 21-14 lead at halftime and was up 28-21 heading into the fourth quarter before scoring 17 unanswered in the fourth quarter. Isaac Wilson accounted for six touchdowns, five passing, and one rushing. He found Tate Kjar and Drew Patterson twice, and once to Quinn Hale. For Pleasant Grove, Nic Staffieri threw for three touchdowns, connecting with Cannon Hale all three times.
Final: #1 Corner Canyon 45, Pleasant Grove 21. Trent Call had two passing touchdowns and one rushing score. He found Josh Davis and Trevan McClellan for scores, while Tate Walker added a rushing touchdown.
#16 Lone Peak 49 @ Westlake 14
Jackson Blake threw four touchdowns, three to Cole Christensen and one to Ian Sanches. Jackson Gunther, Brooks Wilde, and Easton Anderson all ran in a touchdown for the Knights. For Westlake, Aiden Bayless threw a touchdown pass to Ezra Heiner. Manasse Te’o added a rushing score.
