No. 3 Skyridge Shuts Down No. 16 Pleasant Grove In Road Win

SALT LAKE CITY – The third-ranked Skyridge Falcons had a terrific performance in their shutout win over No. 16 Pleasant Grove on the road on Thursday.
#3 Skyridge 42 @ #16 Pleasant Grove 0 (Thurs.)
It was an all-around performance for Skyridge on the road. Trent Call threw three touchdowns, finding La’akea Kalama, Kyle Valdez, and Carter Sheffield once each. Call and Kalama each ran in a touchdown for the Falcons.
Here are all of the results in the 6A classification from the ninth week of the 2022 high school football season.
Region 1
Fremont 28 @ #12 Farmington 42 (Thurs.)
A big comeback attempt from Fremont as they trailed 28-7 heading into the fourth quarter. Fremont scored 21 points in the final period but couldn’t hold Farmington as the Phoenix scored two touchdowns. For Farmington, Easton Wright threw six touchdown passes, connecting with Dayton Runyan twice. Dominic Coats, Travis Hoopes, Mitch Nielsen, and Adam Stucki each caught a TD in the win. For Fremont, Ridge Whitney returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Slade Parker threw a touchdown to Brigg Grange and ran in a score as well. Brant Koford added a rushing TD.

#25 Davis 47 @ Weber 21 (Thurs.)
Davis scored 26 points in the second quarter and that was all they needed in their blowout win over Weber. Jackson Stevens threw five touchdown passes and ran in another score. He connected with Easton Baggett and Tyson Elkins twice each, and once with Kaden Eggett. Josh Barker added a rushing touchdown.
#11 Syracuse 38 @ Layton 0 (Thurs.)
Dylan Croxford accounted for three touchdowns, one rushing and two passing. He found Jake Hopkins and DJ Mayes. Josh Burns also ran in a touchdown for the Titans.
Region 2
Roy 35 @ Granger 6 (Thurs.)
Dru Gardner passed for two touchdowns, one each to Robert Young and Da’Von Harvey. Young also had a rushing touchdown, while DaeQwan Snider led the Royals with two rushing touchdowns.
Kearns 7 @ #8 West 35 (Fri.)
The No. 8 West Panthers outran the Kearns Cougars on Friday, 35-7. The Panthers used a 21-point third quarter to cruise to victory in the second half. Sesi Vailahi scored a pair of touchdowns for West. With the result, the Panthers improved to 6-2 and the Cougars fell to 2-7 this season.
Hunter 28 @ Cyprus 14 (Fri.)
The Hunter Wolverines fought off the Cyprus Pirates for a 28-14 win. Nathan Parke scored a pair of touchdowns for the Wolverines. With the result, Hunter improved to a 2-7 record and Cyprus dropped to 3-6.
Region 3
#20 Mountain Ridge 13 @ #18 Riverton 38 (Fri.)
The No. 18 Riverton Silverwolves ran past the No. 20 Mountain Ridge Sentinels on Friday, 38-13. After scoring 13 points in the first half, the Sentinels were shut out over the final half. Riverton’s Jake Meyers tossed four touchdown passes. With the result, the Silverwolves moved to 6-3 and the Sentinels fell to 6-3.
#5 Bingham 48 @ #21 West Jordan 0 (Fri.)
The No. 5 Bingham Miners blanked the No. 21 West Jordan Jaguars on Friday, 48-0. Dallen Martinez and Havea Fotu each had two touchdowns for the Miners. With the result, the Miners improved to 7-2 and the Jaguars dropped to 5-3.
Herriman 35 @ Copper Hills 7 (Fri.)
The Herriman Mustangs sprinted past the Copper Hills Grizzlies, 35-7. The Mustangs scored 35 straight points before the Grizzlies got on the scoreboard late in the game. Herriman’s Freddy Ta’Ai tossed four touchdown passes. With the result, the Mustangs moved to a 3-6 record and the Grizzlies fell to 2-7.
Region 4
Westlake 7 @ #7 American Fork 35 (Thurs.)
Champion Edwards threw three touchdowns, all to different receivers. He connected with Peyton Rees, Jace Hull, and Trey Roberts. Jacob Eardley and Lucas Segura each ran in a touchdown for the Cavemen. Westlake’s only touchdown came from Aiden Bayless on the ground.
