PROVO, Utah – BYU football QB Jaren Hall put together an outstanding performance in the win over Wyoming last Saturday. The fifth-year junior wouldn’t say if the 337-yard outing through the air was his best as a BYU Cougar, but there’s no denying it caught people’s attention.
Most notably, an ESPN analyst who will be on the call for Thursday night’s BYU/Utah State game. ESPN’s Louis Riddick wrote on Twitter, “@BYUfootball QB Jaren Hall is a baller! Seeing him play in person Thursday night going to be [fire]”

Riddick, a former NFL player and scout will be in the LaVell Edwards Stadium booth with play-by-play voice Matt Berrie. The two will see the last Old Wagon Wheel game for the foreseeable future as BYU moves into the Big 12 Conference.
Jaren Hall is off to a strong start in 2022
Hall will likely be a top storyline for Riddick and the Thursday night crew. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound signal-caller has already passed for 1,164 yards this season and is completing 71.5% of his passes. Even more impressive is that Hall has passed nine touchdowns to only one interception.

Hall’s lone interception was a pass thrown to the endzone against USF, which BYU OC Aaron Roderick has since taken the blame for giving his star QB too aggressive of a play call.
A Thursday night showcase game could be a platform for Hall to continue building his buzz as a rising prospect for next April’s NFL Draft. With Riddick’s background as a pro scout in Washington and with the Philadelphia Eagles, the pro potential of Hall will likely be a hot topic.
Kickoff for BYU versus Utah State on Thursday night is at 6 p.m. on ESPN. You can listen to the game on the legacy home of the Cougars, KSL NewsRadio (102.7 FM, 1160 AM).
