PROVO, Utah – BYU quarterback Jaren Hall caught fire against the Wyoming Cowboys and threw his third touchdown of the night during the third quarter.
The No. 19 Cougars hosted the Cowboys at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, September 24.
With 1:13 left in the third quarter, Hall tossed a dime into the end zone to a wide-open Hill, who hauled in the pass for a nine-yard touchdown catch.
Hall’s pass to Hill gave BYU a 28-10 lead and resulted in 21 unanswered points by the Cougars. Unfortunately for Hill and BYU, the receiver was called for unsportsmanlike conduct for doing the “griddy” as a touchdown celebration.

The touchdown ended a nine-play, 67-yard drive that lasted 4:24. Earlier in the drive, Hall threw an incompletion that broke a streak of 10 consecutive completions.
Hill’s reception gave him four catches for the game along with 92 yards and a score. He entered the game with nine receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown this season.
Following the score, Hall was 22/27 passing for 242 yards and three touchdowns. He added eight carries for 17 yards on the ground.

Wyoming vs. BYU
It’s the first meeting between these two schools since the 2016 Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego. These two programs were once Mountain West and WAC rivals. They used to play on an annual basis, with the last regular season meeting taking place in 2010.
Outside of Utah and Utah State, BYU has never played a team more than Wyoming. BYU’s first win as a program came against Wyoming back in 1922. There’s a history between the two schools. Anyone around for those LaVell Edwards/Paul Roach games or the 1996 WAC Championship would tell you BYU/Wyoming used to be something back in the day.
Wyoming hasn’t won in Provo since 1987. BYU has won the last eight meetings in the series, with Wyoming’s last victory coming in 2003 against a BYU team that finished 4-8.
