SALT LAKE CITY- Utah’s defense just got a little better today with the commitment of Bishop Gorman edge Jonah Leaea. The three-star recruit picked the Utes over other Pac-12 offers including Arizona and Cal.
Leaea is relatively new to football coming from a basketball background and is still working to grow into his “football body”, but shows a lot of promise at the next level. At 6’4″ and 230 pounds, Leaea is currently ranked in the top 100 linebackers nationally for the 2023 class according to 247 Sports and number seven in the state of Nevada.
A Look At The Commitment Stats

As a junior in 2021, Leaea had five tackles for loss along with four sacks on the way to another Bishop Gorman State Championship.
