EUGENE, Ore. – All eyes are on BYU quarterback Jaren Hall for Saturday’s game against the Oregon Ducks.
The Cougars touched down in Eugene earlier today. When they got off the plane, the BYU social media snapped pictures of players touching the ground in the Pacific Northwest.

One of those pictures was of Hall. In the picture, Hall is wearing a t-shirt in honor of his father, Kalin Hall. The elder Hall was a former running back at BYU in the early 90s.
Jaren’s shirt reads, “Dynamic Duo!!!” with a caricature of his dad, Kalin, on the left, and then Kalin Hall’s running back teammate in the 90s, Jamal Willis.
Kalin Hall played at BYU during the 1992 and 1993 seasons after he transferred from Dixie State College.
Willis finished his BYU career in 1994, graduating from the school as BYU’s all-time leading rusher with 2,970 career yards. That career record lasted 12 years until Curtis Brown broke it in 2006.
BYU football is a family thing for Jaren Hall
Kalin’s decision to transfer to BYU led to the Hall family embracing the Cougars. Jaren and his older broth During an interview with KSL Sports last March, Jaren Hall spoke fondly of growing up watching BYU games.

“It’s my hometown, you know, BYU; I’m from here. I’ve always dreamed of playing quarterback at BYU,” said Jaren Hall to KSL Sports. “So every day, it’s a dream come true. Every day it’s a blessing just to have my family with me to do it. It’s just a family thing, you know? So that’s what drives me to be the best quarterback I can be here at BYU. And you know, just everything this university stands for; what I want to be part of, I think it’s part of who I am with my upbringing. So it’s just a blessing to be here.”

Also of note in BYU football’s “touching down” post was the appearance of wide receiver Puka Nacua. Nacua suffered an ankle injury that sidelined him last week against Baylor. His status has been deemed “day-to-day” by coaches this week.

If Nacua can play against the Ducks, it gives BYU another weapon in the passing game for Hall.
