SALT LAKE CITY – The Sky View Bobcats ruined homecoming for the Ridgeline Riverhawks with a rout of a victory on Game Night Live.

The Riverhawks hosted the Bobcats in Millville on Friday, September 16.

Sky View defeated Ridgeline, 30-6.

Ridgeline started the game on offense and failed to convert a fourth down on its opening drive. Likewise, Sky View’s next possession went nowhere.

On Ridgeline next drive, the Riverhawks turned the ball over with less than two minutes left in the first quarter. The Bobcats began to move the ball on their subsequent turn.

With 10:15 remaining in the first half, Carson Thatcher connected with Brooks Rigbyy for a 12-yard touchdown and the first points of the game. The extra point to follow was blocked and Sky View took a 6-0 lead.

Following another Ridgeline possession, the Bobcats drove down the field eating up clock. After a holding penalty near the goal line, Sky View was forced to kick the ball. A 41-yard field goal by Calebe de Quadros extended the Bobcats’ lead t0 9-0 with 2:19 left until halftime.

At the break, Sky View took a 9-0 lead into the locker room.

The Bobcats continued to march down the field on their opening possession of the second half. With 6:07 left in the third quarter, Michael Ferguson took a direct snap and ran it across the goal line for a Sky View touchdown and 16-0 lead.

With 2:11 remaining in the third quarter, Brevin Egbert broke up the middle and took the ball about 55 yards to the end zone. Egbert’s burst broke the game open and put Sky View up 23-0.

Late in the third quarter, the Riverhawks found the end zone for the first time. Ridgeline’s TD made it a 23-6 contest after a failed two-point conversion.

Sky View was quick to respond. With 11:27 left in the fourth quarter, Egbert busted into the end zone for his second score of the night. He set up his TD run with a 68-yard run earlier in the drive.

With the result, the Bobcats improved to a 2-4 record this season and the Riverhawks dropped to 3-3.

The Game Night Live Game of the Week next week features Mountain Ridge hosting Bingham on Friday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. MT on the KSL Sports app, KSL TV app and KSLSports.com.
