No. 1 Skyridge Stays Undefeated, Hands No. 4 Timpview First Loss

SALT LAKE CITY – The No. 1 Skyridge Falcons remained undefeated and handed the No. 4 Timpview Thunderbirds their first loss in a non-region matchup.
#1 Skyridge (6A) 20 @ #4 Timpview 13
After a scoreless first quarter, the Thunderbirds scored a pair of touchdowns to take a 13-0 lead. Skyridge got the scoreboard before halftime to make it a 13-7 contest. During the second half, the Falcons shut out the T-Birds and added a pair of touchdowns of their own to capture the seven-point win. Timpview’s Quezon Villa scored two touchdowns in the loss. Skyridge improved to 5-0 and Timpview dropped to 4-1.

#15 Bonneville 24 @ Viewmont 21
In an battle of undefeated teams, the Bonneville Lakers picked up another win and dealt the Viewmont Vikings their first defeat of 2022. The Lakers were trailing 14-3 at the halftime break before bouncing back in the second half by outscoring the Vikings, 21-7. With the win, the Lakers improved to 4-0 and the Vikings fell to 3-1.

Box Elder 25 @ Northridge 13
The Box Elder Bees picked up a win on the road over the Northridge Knights, 25-13. The Bees used an 18-point first half to capture the win. Box Elder’s Ryan Griffin accounted for three touchdowns in the game. With the result, Box Elder moved to 4-1 and Northridge fell to 2-3.
Woods Cross 7 @ Bountiful 14
The Bountiful Redhawks picked up their third win with a 14-7 win over the Woods Cross Wildcats. Bountiful scored its points in the first half and limited the Wildcats to only seven points after the halftime break to hold onto victory. With the result, the Wildcats moved to a 2-3 record and the Redhawks improved to 3-2.

Region 6
#14 Brighton 28 @ #16 Olympus 17
The No. 14 Brighton Bengals went on the road and beat the No. 16 Olympus Titans, 28-17. Jack Johnson threw three touchdowns passes for Brighton. Chase Moseley tossed a pair of TDs for the Titans. With the result, the Titans dropped to a 3-2 record and Brighton moved to 4-1.

Murray 0 @ #20 Park City 53
The Park City Miners blew out the Murray Spartans on Friday night, 53-0. The Miners scored 46 of their points before halftime. Park City’s Maximilian Grizzell accounted for five touchdowns. With the result, the Miners move to 4-1 and the Spartans fell to 0-5.
Highland 24 @ Skyline 41
The Skyline Eagles picked up their third victory of the season with a 41-24 win over the Highland Rams. Skyline’s Josh Calvert threw five touchdown passes in the win. With the result, the Eagles improved to a 3-2 record and the Rams fell to 1-4.
Region 7
Payson 49 @ #17 Timpanogos 6 (Thurs.)
Kade Edwards threw four touchdown passes in Payson’s blowout road win against Timpanogos. Edwards connected with Cooper Swasey and Dylan Wall twice each. Jaxon Bulkley added a rushing touchdown. Both Wall and Kamden Schimpf had a pick-six.

Hillcrest 7 @ #8 Stansbury 56
The Stansbury Stallions picked up a 56-7 win over the Hillcrest Huskies on Friday. The Stallions used a 42-0 first half to propel the victory. Stansbury’s Ezra Harris tossed four touchdown passes in the win. With the result, the Stallions moved to 5-0 and the Huskies dropped to an 0-5 record.
Cedar Valley 49 @ Tooele 13
The Cedar Valley Aviators earned a 49-13 win over the Tooele Buffaloes. After taking a 13-7 lead in the first quarter, Tooele was outscored 42-0 over the final three quarters. With the result, the Aviators improved to 3-2 and the Buffaloes fell to 1-4.

Mountain View 21 @ Uintah 35
The Uintah Utes beat the Mountain View Bruins 35-21 for a home victory. The Bruins scored 14 of their points in the fourth quarter, but the early deficit was too much to overcome. Kaysten Ussery and JD Pickup combined for three passing touchdowns for the Utes. With the result, the Utes improved to 2-3 and the Bruins fell to an 0-5 record.

Salem Hills 26 @ Wasatch 63
The Wasatch Wasps stung the Salem Hills SkyHawks on Friday, 63-26. Wasatch’s Chris Cook ran for five touchdowns in the game. With the result, the Wasps moved to 2-3 and the SkyHawks fell to 1-4.
Maple Mountain 10 @ Provo 47
The Provo Bulldogs beat the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles on Friday evening, 47-10. Provo used a 41-0 first half to propel the big win. Bulldogs quarterback Kyson Condie tossed three touchdown passes. With the result, Provo moved to 4-1 and Maple Mountain fell to 1-4.

Non-Region
IMG Academy (FL) 63 @ #19 East 13
The East Leopards dropped a tough game to IMG Academy on Friday, 63-13. Amini Amone ran for a touchdown in the loss. With the loss, East fell to 2-3 on the season.
