With the scoreboard knotted at 23-23, Butler connected on a long field that would’ve been good from more than 50 yards to give Davis the edge of their nearby rival.
The rivalry contest featured an early defensive battle and a late scoring spurt. The two teams traded shots during the final three quarters as they alternated scores to the final seconds of the game.
The opening minutes of the night featured a scoreless duel of shining defenses and turnovers forced.
Early in the second quarter, Davis got the scoring started with a field goal.
A few minutes later, the Lancers responded with a field goal of their own.
With seven seconds remaining in the first half, the Darts scored the game’s first touchdown and Davis took a 10-3 advantage into the locker room at the halftime break.
