12 Players With Local Ties On Senior Bowl Watch List

SALT LAKE CITY- The state of Utah is well represented on the Senior Bowl’s newly released watch list. 12 players with local ties made the cut and could possibly be suiting up in Mobile this coming post-season as a first step in the NFL Draft evaluation process.

The University of Utah had seven players named to the watch list. BYU added four more while the last player with local ties went to Olympus High School, but currently plays for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Breaking Down The Senior Bowl Numbers
The 2022 watch list for the Senior Bowl consists of 100 players from the SEC, 77 from the Big Ten, 72 from the ACC, 51 in the Pac-12, and 48 from the Big 12. Additionally, 32 players represent the American Athletic Conference, 17 for both the Sun Belt and Mountain West Conference, 10 for the Mid-American and nine for Conference USA.
The Senior Bowl has also made active efforts starting last season to include HBCUs in their evaluations. This year 14 student-athletes were selected to the watch list from HBCUs, 29 from the FCS level and nine from Division II.
BYU has the most players represented amongst Independents with four. Notre Dame is next with three with Liberty and Army bringing up the rear with one.
Utah and Washington lead the Pac-12 with seven total selections to the watch list. USC and Stanford are next with six. Oregon has five players represented, UCLA and Arizona have four, ASU, Washington State and Cal have three, Oregon State has two and Colorado comes in last place with one.
