SALT LAKE CITY – Fox announced the return of former University of Utah head football coach Urban Meyer to their Big Noon Saturday Coverage on Friday.
Meyer, who also led the Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes was dismissed as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars in mid-December after reports that he had kicked former Jaguars kicker and long-time NFL veteran, Josh Lambo, in pre-game warm-ups.
While Meyer has denied those allegations, other controversies including a video shot in an Ohio area bar that showed Meyer mingling with female patrons instead of flying to Jacksonville with the Jaguars ultimately led to the coach’s dismissal.

Meyer was hired in Jacksonville after a first stint with Big Noon Saturday after stepping away at Ohio State citing health concerns.
The move was met with much criticism from league insiders, coaches, and analysts. Many cited Meyer’s lack of NFL leadership experience as a major red flag.
Now Meyer will return to Fox Big Noon as an analyst. Rob Stone, Reggie Bush, and Matt Leinart will return along side Meyer to complete the broadcast team that will bring the nation the early slate game of the week on Fox.

What’s next for Meyer after this next adventure into television is yet to be seen. Could a return to coaching be in the cards? The first step towards any such move would be a solid, and notably controversy-free year on Fox to help clean up the image of a coach widely panned after an ugly NFL exit.
Big Noon kickoff airs each Saturday morning during the college football season from 10 a.m. to Noon on Fox and the Fox Sports app.
