Britain Covey Making Strong Impression In Training Camp With Eagles

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes wide receiver Britain Covey is making a strong impression at the next level by performing well with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Britain Covey and the Eagles are currently in training camp getting ready for the 2022-23 season. After practice on Wednesday, Eagles WR coach Aaron Moorehead was asked about Covey and told the media that the “players love him.”

It’s not the only praise that Covey has received since he signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent.

Media members that cover the Eagles on a regular basis have been impressed with Covey during training camp. The former Utah star is always listed as a standout.

After a standout high school career at Timpview High School in Provo, Covey played at the University of Utah from 2015-21.
During his Utah career, Covey had 132 receptions for 1,497 yards and eight touchdowns. On the ground, he added 35 carries for 201 yards.
Covey returned the ball on punt return and kick return a total of 84 times for 1,143 yards and two touchdowns.
Covey has been a part of many great moments throughout his career at Utah and has always been loved by his coaches and teammates.

His first career kick return for a touchdown ended up being one of his last attempts when he took a 97-yard return for a touchdown in the Rose Bowl against Ohio State.

That is just some of the many memories that fans have from Covey’s time with the Utes. Covey is setting himself up to make the Eagles’ 53-man roster. The Eagles open preseason action on Friday, August 12 when they host former Utah DB Javelin Guidry, former BYU QB Zach Wilson, and the New York Jets at 5:30 p.m. MT.
Philadelphia opens the regular season on the road against the Detroit Lions on September 11.
