Corner Canyon LB Says ‘Dream Come True’ After Committing To BYU

SALT LAKE CITY – BYU football added to their class of 2023 with a commitment from Corner Canyon senior linebacker Owen Borg.
Borg announced his intention to play for BYU via social media on Monday, August 8.

Borg showed great enthusiasm about joining the Cougar program, “Childhood dream come true…I am so thankful to everyone who has helped me get here. I am committed to BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY!!! Go Cougs!!!”
Kalani Sitake and BYU made a formal offer to Borg on August 4. He had previously received offers from Air Force, Colorado, Columbia, Nevada, Penn, San Diego State and Utah State.
About Owen Borg
A 6’2, 190-pound linebacker out of Draper, Utah, Borg is entering his third season at Corner Canyon High School.
During the 2020 season he amassed just 14 tackles including one sack.
It was his 2021 junior season that really put the linebacker on recruiting lists. He finished with 119 tackles (8.5 TFL), 1.5 sacks, three interceptions and scored a defensive touchdown for the Chargers.
Borg is the ninth prospect to verbally commit to BYU in the 2023 class. He joined four-star Arizona TE Jackson Bowers, three-star Timpview HS athlete Pokaiaua Haunga, three-star Washington athlete Leo Pulalasi, three-star Springville HS QB Ryder Burton, three-star Hawai’i DL Stanley Raass, three-star Arizona LB Pierson Watson, Texas RB Landen Chambers, and Skyline HS athlete Miles Hall.
