SALT LAKE CITY – The countdown for Hans & Scotty’s 60 in 60 is on. Coming in at #14 is Utah’s Mohamoud Diabate (LB).
Throughout the summer Hans & Scotty are counting down the top 60 college football players in the state of Utah as voted on by the media (and a fan ballot).
“Tremendous talent,” Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said of his linebacker. “Wasn’t able to play with us in spring due to an injury he was recovering from. His Florida tape speaks for itself. Sideline-to-sideline player that can really do it all at the linebacker position.”
Utah’s Mohamoud Diabate
Diabate is a senior from Auburn, Alabama. In high school, Diabate was a four-star recruit and played in the 2019 All-American Bowl. As a senior, he racked up 68 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. After high school, Diabate committed to play at Florida where he played 37 games with 17 starts for the Gators.

During his time in Gainesville from 2019-21, Diabate recorded 176 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles, two pass breakups and one interception. This past season, Diabate had 89 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and four quarterback hurries. His career-high in tackles in a single game is 12 against South Carolina. He was close to matching that against Kentucky when he finished the game with 11 tackles.
