Devin Lloyd Embracing Life In The NFL

JACKSONVILLE- Jaguar rookie linebacker Devin Lloyd has wasted no time making his presence felt in his new NFL home. The first round pick has already set out to make an impact in the Jacksonville community by participating in various events throughout the city.
No rookie has done more community events before the season started than @DevinLloyd_ , telling us “I’m on this earth to make a difference.”

One of those events, Lloyd’s first football camp he’s hosted since being picked up by the Jaguars took place at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville Wednesday- a nod to his roots growing up in the military.
Devin Lloyd Before The NFL
Before Lloyd was picked up by the Jaguars, he was an unlikely star for the University of Utah football team. Lloyd was an under-recruited diamond in the rough when the Utes came calling, but with vision, transformed the one-time safety and wide receiver into one of the most imposing college linebackers in the country. After being unexpectedly thrown into action after Penn State transfer Manny Bowen left the program, Lloyd quickly showed he was more than capable of picking up the slack in 2019.

By 2020 most assumed Lloyd would be declaring for the NFL at the end of that season, however, partially due to the team tragically losing freshman running back Ty Jordan to a self-inflicted gun wound, Lloyd decided to return for one more season. The decision proved to be a good one. Not only did Lloyd increase his draft stock, but he also helped secure Utah’s first ever Pac-12 Title and Rose Bowl appearance.
The phenomenal team captain finished his career with degree in hand, 43 tackles for loss, three interception touchdown returns, and ten All-America accolades- eight of which were first-team honors for the 2021 season.
