Chris Kablan Returns To SK Beveren Following Loan Spell At Real Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake fullback Chris Kablan has returned to his Belgium second division side SK Beveren after RSL declined to extend his option, the club announced this morning.
“We are grateful to Chris for his time, effort and diligence here in Salt Lake this Summer,” said Real Salt Lake General Manager Elliot Fall, now in his 15th year with the Club. “We wish him the best in his return to Beveren, and in his future endeavors.”

Kablan has seen 25 minutes of MLS playing time since arriving in early May of 2022. He struggled to find the pitch and fit into manager Pablo Mastroeni’s system. Fortunately, Kablan will return to SK Beveren with a greater understanding and appreciation for the game being played in the United States.
“We’re extremely happy to have Chris back,” said Antoine Gobin, CEO of SK Beveren. “We think he’ll be able to take back up the challenge of being a part of Wim’s squad this season, and we’re lucky to have him come back in our Yellow-Blue ranks.”
SK Beveren will begin its 2022/23 campaign on August 13 when they travel to Beerschot VA. Last season, Beveren finished in third position and eight points shy of second place. It is believed that Beveren will put together another promising performance with the expectation that they will contend for promotion once again in 2022/23.
