Four Local Players Advance To 2022 USFL Championship Game

SALT LAKE CITY – Four local players helped their teams advance in the postseason and will play for the 2022 USFL Championship.

Here is how all the players with ties to the state of Utah fared during the semifinal round of the USFL playoffs.

Former Utah Utes

Brian Allen – Cornerback – Birmingham Stallions

Allen had two total tackles and one solo tackle in Birmingham’s 31-17 win over the New Orleans Breakers in the semifinals on Saturday, June 25.

Former Weber State Wildcats

Adam Rodriguez – Defensive End – Philadelphia Stars

Rodriguez had two total tackles, one solo tackle, one sack, and one tackle for loss in Philadelphia’s 19-14 win over the New Jersey Generals in the semifinals on Saturday, June 25.

Former Southern Utah Thunderbirds

Brock Miller – Kicker – New Jersey Generals

Miller punted the ball four times with an average of 46.5 yards per kick in New Jersey’s 19-14 loss to the Philadelphia Stars in the semifinals on Saturday, June 25.

Marquez Tucker – Offensive Line – Birmingham Stallions

Tucker and the Stallions beat the New Orleans Breakers, 31-17, in the semifinals on Saturday, June 25.

Gabriel Sewell Jr. (Desert Hills)– Linebacker – Philadelphia Stars
