SALT LAKE CITY – Former University of Utah basketball star Kyle Kuzma looked like he was enjoying round three of the U.S. Open on Saturday.

The U.S. Open is being held June 16-19, 2022 at The Country Club in Brookline, MA.

“The day’s been great. Great vibes, great people, great competition,” the current Washington Wizard forward said. “My favorite part about the game this is the ultimate game for fairness. You know, it doesn’t matter your athletic ability, your size, your speed or whatever. It all about up here (points to head), which is very great.”

Kuzma spent the 2021-22 season with the Washington Wizards. He averaged 17.1 points per game with career highs in rebounds per game (8.5) and assists per game (3.5).

‘Kuz’ as he is known to his fans, averaged 10.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists at Utah. After three seasons with the University of Utah, Kuzma was drafted in the first round, 27th overall, by the Brooklyn Nets before having his rights traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Winning a championship with the Lakers in just his third season, Kuzma averaged 15.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game with Los Angeles before being dealt to Washington as part of a package in return for Russell Westbrook prior to the 2021-22 season.

Jon Rahm currently leads at (-5) on the 17th hole. Most golfers are in the clubhouse following the third round.

Utah native Tony Finau failed to make the cut, finishing at (+5) for the tournament after struggling mightily in the second round.
